HIRE TERMS
**Appointment Slots & Collection Details:**
Collection of your campervan is available from 9 am. Please only arrive at your designated collection time to ensure a smooth handover. All campervans must be returned by 12 pm (midday) on your final day.
**Mileage Policy:**
- Unlimited mileage is included for the UK for the VW California Ocean model.
**Return Condition Requirements:**
- Please return the campervan with a clean interior. A cleaning kit is provided within the vehicle.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle.
- Pets are only permitted with prior arrangement; please confirm with us first. An additional pet cleaning fee will apply to cover the extra time needed to prepare the vehicle for the next customer.
**Parking Availability:**
You are welcome to leave one vehicle with us during your hire period. The vehicle will be parked at our facility, at your own risk. We are not liable for any damage or loss to your vehicle while parked on our premises.
**Breakdown Assistance:**
Our vehicles are covered by the VW Assist breakdown and recovery service in case of any issues.
**Insurance Requirements:**
Comprehensive insurance is included in the hire rate.
Driver requirements are as follows:
- Must be aged 25-75
- Hold a minimum of 2 years of driving experience
- Have no current traffic convictions or endorsements other than minor ones, with no more than 6 penalty points
- Must not have been involved in more than one accident in the past 3 years
- Must be present at the time of hire, provide necessary identification, and complete a DVLA license check.
**Security Deposit:**
A security deposit of £1200 is required, this needs to be paid before the hire.
**Fuel Policy:**
Upon collection, the fuel level will be documented and agreed upon. The campervan must be returned with the fuel refilled to this agreed level. If fuel is missing on return, the cost of the fuel plus a £30 service fee will be deducted from the security deposit.
**Traffic Offences:**
An administration charge of £30 will apply for processing any traffic offence paperwork incurred during the rental period.
**Arrivals & Departures Schedule:**
Our schedule is busy, so please arrive punctually at your designated time. We reserve the right to charge £30 per half-hour if you are late, as this affects other customers and our planned schedule.
**Booking & Payment:**
We offer flexible booking options, whether via our website, email, or by phone. To confirm a booking, we require a 30% deposit, with the remaining balance due 30 days before your start date.
Accepted payment methods are credit/debit cards or bank transfer.

The Necessary (But Important) Legal Stuff…
This agreement is made between High Peak Campers and the individual(s) completing the booking. By completing the booking and paying the deposit, you and High Peak Campers enter into a binding agreement under the following terms.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU:
High Peak Campers provides you solely with the campervan vehicle. Planning your itinerary and destinations is your responsibility and is independent of our contractual obligations. High Peak Campers cannot be held liable for any changes in availability of locations or events. We strongly recommend purchasing third-party Personal Travel Insurance to cover any such unforeseen scenarios.

**INSURANCE EXCESS:**
The hirer is responsible for a standard excess of £1200 in the event of any damage to the vehicle or third-party property, fire, or theft. The hirer will be fully liable for the cost of replacement or repair of windscreen, tyre, or alloy wheel damage. Insurance cover provided is Fully Comprehensive.

**SECURITY DEPOSIT:**
A security deposit of £1200 is required, which will normally be reserved on the same card used for booking, 2 days before collection. The deposit reserve will expire on your card 7 days after the return unless there is damage to the vehicle, its contents, or any extra equipment hired from us. The following conditions must be met:
- Campervan must be returned with diesel refilled to its agreed pre-hire level.
- Campervan interior, cooking appliances, and utensils must be clean and in the same condition as when rented.
- The wastewater and toilet cassette must be emptied prior to return. A toilet cleaning fee will apply if the toilet waste tank is not empty on return.
- Campervan must be returned by the agreed time. A £30 charge per 30 minutes will apply for late returns, as this affects subsequent rentals and our schedule.
- All equipment provided must be returned with the campervan free from damage.

**WASTE WATER AND TOILET CASSETTE:**
There are no waste water or toilet emptying facilities at High Peak Campers’ depot, so these must be emptied prior to returning the vehicle. An £85 fee will be charged if the toilet and/or waste water tank are not emptied before return.

**FINES AND LIABILITY:**
Drivers are responsible for any penalties such as parking or speeding fines during the hire period. An admin fee of £30 will be charged to process each offence.

**PAYMENT:**
Availability is on a request and confirmation basis at the time of reservation. A reservation is only binding once confirmed by High Peak Campers by email, and a 30% deposit has been received. The remaining balance is due 30 days before departure. If a booking is not paid in full within this period, High Peak Campers reserves the right to cancel the booking, and all deposits will be non-refundable. Payment is accepted via bank transfer or card transaction. Vehicles will not be released without full payment and the provision of valid identification for insurance purposes. High Peak Campers reserves the right to cancel with a full refund in cases of genuine pricing error.

**CANCELLATION:**
**Standard Policy**
The booking fee is non-refundable. Cancellation fees are as follows:
- **More than 8 weeks prior to departure**: 15% retained.
- **Less than 8 weeks but more than 4 weeks prior to departure**: 50% retained.
- **Less than 4 weeks but more than 2 weeks prior to departure**: 75% retained.
- **Less than 2 weeks prior to departure**: 100% retained.
We advise hirers to secure holiday insurance to cover unforeseen events.

**BREAKDOWN/ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS:**
In the event of a breakdown, we will provide details to contact VW Assist, who will attempt to repair the vehicle, take you back to the campsite, or recover you and the campervan. Contact us immediately on 07527536583. Costs for third-party recovery services, if used, are the hirer's responsibility.

**CANCELLATIONS OUT OF OUR CONTROL:**
If the campervan is damaged, undrivable, or stolen before your hire commences, and we cannot provide a replacement vehicle, all monies paid will be refunded. High Peak Campers cannot accept responsibility for missed arrangements or adverse weather conditions affecting the hire.

**PERSONAL TRAVEL INSURANCE:**
Hirers are responsible for providing their own insurance to cover personal belongings and injury. Personal travel insurance is strongly recommended.

**RENTAL RESTRICTIONS:**
- Smoking is not permitted in the campervan.
- Pets are allowed only by selecting the Pet Valet at checkout.
- Maximum of 4 passengers per campervan.
- Keys must not be left in the ignition or in view.
- The hirer is responsible for key loss and using the correct fuel (diesel).
- Campervans must remain on public, sealed, or campsite roads.
- Theft or loss of campervan/equipment must be reported to the police and High Peak Campers immediately.

**DEMURRAGE:**
The hirer may be charged for any losses or costs incurred if the campervan is rendered unserviceable due to their use during the hire period. This includes smoking inside, misfuelling, or contaminating the water tank.

**USE OF THE VEHICLE:**
The campervan must not be driven recklessly, submerged, in prohibited areas, or with unlicensed drivers. It must not be used for illegal activities, towing, or carrying more passengers than its capacity.

**VEHICLE DAMAGE – INSURANCE COVER:**
- The campervan is insured for third-party damage, but does not cover personal insurance for hirers or their possessions.
- Overhead damage is not covered by insurance, and the hirer is liable for repairs.
- Insurance excess is £1200 per claim.
- Hirers will be liable for any damages caused through negligence.

**RESPONSIBILITY IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS:**
In the event of an accident, loss, or damage, notify High Peak Campers immediately, collect names and addresses of all involved parties, and report to the nearest police station. The hirer agrees to assist High Peak Campers with any claims as required.

**TERMINATING THE AGREEMENT:**
High Peak Campers reserves the right to terminate this agreement and repossess the campervan if terms are breached or safety is at risk. Hirers will not receive a refund upon repossession.

**CHANGE OF VEHICLE:**
High Peak Campers reserves the right to provide a comparable or similar vehicle if necessary.

**RELEASE AND INDEMNITY OF HIGH PEAK CAMPERS:**
The hirer releases High Peak Campers from liability for any loss or damage due to breakdown, accident, or the vehicle’s unsuitability. High Peak Campers is indemnified against any claims incurred by the hirer’s use of the vehicle.

**TITLE TO VEHICLE:**
High Peak Campers retains title to the vehicle. The hirer possesses the vehicle as a bailee only and has no rights to transfer ownership.

**PICK-UP, RETURNS & PARKING:**
Please arrive at your designated time to avoid delays and penalties. We offer off-road parking for your car, but we do not hold liability for parked vehicles.

**PRIVACY POLICY:**
We do not store financial details, including bank details.
This agreement is governed by English Law and constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. No additional oral agreements or warranties exist beyond this document.
DRIVER ELIGIBILITY AND IDENTIFICATION
All drivers must be between the age of 25 and 75, have at least 2 years of driving experience have no current traffic convictions or endorsements except minor ones, have no more than 6 penalty points on the driving licence and have not been involved in more than one accident in 3 years. Each driver needs to be present on the collection of the vehicle and will need to show their original full driving license.
Within 21 days prior to your collection date, each driver will need to verify their identity for insurance purposes.
During the verification process, each driver must provide a total of 2 proofs of address.
All proofs should be dated less than 3 months old from your hire collection date.
Statements in joint names are acceptable as long as your name features. We understand that most of you are paperless these days but the majority of service providers will allow you to download bills or statements that you can share with us.
UK drivers will also need to provide us with a DVLA check-code which allows us to check you have no more than 6 points. You can obtain a code at www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence.
Please do take the time to get these necessary documents uploaded to our Driver Identification Portal prior to departure as we absolutely cannot release the vehicle to you without them and you will forfeit your hire and all monies paid. Please contact us immediately if you will be unable to upload these critical documents.
High Peak Campers cannot be held responsible for any lost holiday time as a result of you not providing the correct documentation.
Please note that the campervan is not insured outside the contract of hire.
